Weekend excursions Answer to a calling from Anneka Rice

Well you are still interested in what I have to say (thank you!!)

The Sat Nav stated it will take 3hrs to get there (very optimistic!!). 5:30 hrs later I finally arrived at the sat nav point in Cornwall (Wadebridge).

I went off for a well earned break and something to eat in the town centre. By now the rain had started to come down.

As you can see it started raining just as I arrived. On the bright side the car looks clean (it should do as I booked the day off to clean it ready to come down today).

Time to stretch my legs and find out who got me to come down, I called the contact number he gave me and I was introduced to the very nice and helpful guy.

It was not long till the elves started jazzing my car up with ribbon and balloons for the carnival.

The roads on the way to the town centre were decorated beautifully. See image on the left.

I came across the ‘Anneka Bridge’ on my way to the town centre.  The bridge was completed in 1991 as one of the "Challenge Anneka" programmes. Until the bridge was built, people from both Egloshayle and Wadebridge had to walk into the centre of town to use the old "Wool" bridge

After I had lunch I strolled back to the dakar and the rain was starting to be steady. I could see most of the town was getting ready for the carnival. On my way back I noticed Anneka Rice filming.

I got back to my Dakar to see it all ‘dolled up’ with the ribbon and balloons added on!!.

She was already to start the carnival off.

I made my way back to the cricket pavilion where everyone was getting ready. While waiting it stopped raining and had to make a dash back to the Dakar and take the doors off and introduce Anneka to the vehicle she would be driving.

As you can see on the right she looked good in the driving seat!!
